Today I convened a meeting of Development Ministers and partners in New York to discuss the future of international development cooperation and reform of the UN system.
In a challenging global environment, there was strong agreement on the need for greater coordination.
Development cooperation remains one of the most powerful tools to tackle poverty, prevent
conflict and build resilience. It is an investment in global stability, prosperity and security.
We must ensure that limited resources are used as effectively as possible while defending our values, particularly in relation to human rights and gender equality.
Minister Neale Richmond TD
